About

MADANTS is a Warsaw-based production company, founded in 2015 by Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska and Beata Rzeźniczek, joined in 2019 by Bogna Szewczyk-Skupień, aiming to produce independent films with potential for distribution and international festival access.

Since then it has become one of the most active Polish production outlets, co-producing such films as Claire Denis' HIGH LIFE (TIFF, San Sebastian FF, US distribution by A24), starring Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche, partly shot in Poland, Agnieszka’s Holland Berlinale’s CHARLATAN, as well as Icelandic festival hit LAMB by Valdimar Jóhannsson starring Noomi Rapace (Un Certain Regard Cannes 2021, US distribution by A24) and a dark rap musical OTHER PEOPLE, directed by Aleksandra Terpińska (Tallinn Black Nights FF 2021) produced with Warner Bros. Poland.

In 2022 two Madants’ productions premiered in Cannes - Agnieszka Smoczyńska’s first English-language film THE SILENT TWINS, starring Black Panther’ actress Letitia Wright as well as the Ukrainian co-production PAMFIR by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk.

We are involved in several upcoming co-productions, including among others, BLANQUITA by Fernando Guzzoni, BABI YAR by Sergei Loznitsa, JOIKA by James Napier Robertson starring Talia Ryder and Diane Kruger.
